Founder and Managing Director

Starting his career as a mechanic, Benoît quickly followed in his father’s footsteps, focussing on motorsport and becoming a professional racing driver, eventually starting his own racing team in 2000. As team manager, he worked in various championships before joining Le Mans LMP1 and LMP2, where his team created the first hybrid car able to compete and celebrated a vice world champion position (WEC) in 2016. With his commitment to motorsport and his family heritage, Benoît Morand brings strong management and entrepreneurship expertise to the Morand brand.

Ricardo Penteado

Project Manager and Chief Engineer

Ricardo joined the Renault racing team in 2007 as a race engineer, eventually becoming Engine Support Leader for Renault Sport, working with Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Renault and McLaren. His passion for technical challenges (and human adventures) naturally led him to the Morand eTechnology project, where he saw the opportunity to apply all his experience gained from 227 GPs and almost 20 years in F1.

Roland Schaumann

Development Engineer

Roland has also worked at the very highest level In his field, having worked as Test and Development Engineer at Alpine F1 team before founding his own firm in 2016, Ian Motion, specialising in 100% electric battery powered drivetrains based on its proprietary technologies. He brings his wealth of powertrain expertise and “future proof” design to the Morand eTechnology project.
